ITINERARY:
April 19, Monday: Depart US – night flight to Istanbul
April 20 Tuesday: Arrival in Turkey
Arrive in Istanbul. Check into your hotel, rest, and prepare for the journey east the following morning.
April 21, Wednesday: Journey to Eastern Turkey & Mount Ararat (Ark Tour Day 1)
Fly from Istanbul to Igdir (IGD) in eastern Turkey. You will drive around Mount Ararat—the legendary region of the flood—getting your first views of the mountain's geological formations before settling in for the night.

April 22, Thursday: Durupinar Noah's Ark Site & Fossil Hunting (Ark Tour Day 2)
Visit the Durupinar Noah's Ark site and the renovated visitor center. You will have the opportunity to review the history of the research and dig into the latest geophysical scan results, including the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) data collected at the site. We will also visit the nearby fossil beds to observe the area's unique sedimentology, followed by a trip further up the mountain to a proposed landing site and a giant altar stone.

April 23, Friday: Anchor Stones & Urartu Fortress (Ark Tour Day 3)
Start the day in Arzap, the "Village of 8," to examine the massive "Anchor stones" with carved holes, which many researchers believe to be drogue stones from the ark. Next, explore the ancient Urartu fortress above Dogubayazit to see the historical footprint of the Kingdom of Ararat, followed by a visit to the Ottoman-era Ishak Pasha Palace for spectacular views of the valley.

April 24, Saturday: Depart Turkey & Travel to Jordan (Travel day)
Conclude the Turkey portion of the tour and begin your journey to the Middle East. Enjoy an evening in the historical district of Istanbul along the Bosporus Straits. Fly from eastern Turkey to Istanbul, Turkey, and then on to Aqaba, Jordan. Cross over into Saudi Arabia. Drive to Tabuk.

April 25, Sunday: The Land of Midian & Red Sea crossing (Arabia Tour Day 1)
Head into the ancient Land of Midian. Visit the town of Al-bad', the traditional home of Jethro, where you will explore ancient Midianite and Nabatean ruins (often called Jethro's Caves/Tombs) and the Well of Moses. Drive to the Red Sea in the late afternoon. Swim or snorkel in the sea. End the day watching the sunset on the Gulf of Aqaba at the Red Sea crossing site.

April 26, Monday: Wadi Tayyib al Ism & Rephidim / Split Rock of Horeb (Exodus route camps) (Arabia Tour Day 2)
Travel via 4x4 deep into the coastal mountains to Wadi Tayyib al Ism, a lush canyon oasis and a possible exodus camping site. Here you can explore ancient Midianite ruins and the dramatic red-colored canyon geology. Next, travel to the western side of the Jabal al Lawz range to see the breathtaking split Rock of Horeb. You can climb the hill, walk directly through the massive split boulder, and observe the distinct water and wind erosion marks at its base. The day will also include exploring nearby ancient stone circle dwellings and analyzing ancient footprint carvings and petroglyphs.

April 27, Tuesday: The Real Mount Sinai (Arabia Tour Day 3)
Venture to the base of Jabal Maqla—the proposed real Mount Sinai. Explore the profound archaeological footprint around the base of the mountain, including the cow petroglyphs (associated with the golden calf), the V-shaped stone altar, and the scattered marble pillars. Stand in the massive encampment plain before traveling out through the striking, desolate landscapes of the Hisma desert Overnight: Camp at base of Mount Sinai or Bajda (Hisma desert) for those climbing. Those not climbing will be taken to Tabuk to either fly home that night or the next morning. Hotel is included for this evening.
April 28 Wednesday- Optional Summit Climb of Mount Sinai (Jabal Maqla) Arabia Tour Day 4
For those joining the optional climbing extension, awake at dawn for an ascent of Jabal Maqla. Climb up to the plateau of the 70 elders and view the blackened basalt peak up close. Finally ascend to the top for those that want to. Others can relax on the plateau. By evening, return to Tabuk.

Wednesday 4/28 - Depart Tabuk, Saudi Arabia
Thursday 4/29 - Arrive Home
